Ohsaki Exlibris Hasselblad Camera Bookplate
Bookplates by Motoi Yanagida - Charming design from a group of sosaku hanga bookplates or ex-libris (latin for "from the books") by Motoi Yanagida. Bookplates are pasted into the front of books to indicate ownership. These interesting small format prints feature a wide variety of subjects, including landscapes, buildings, and animals. Motoi Yanagida is a member of the "Nippon Exlibris Association," which was founded in 1943. Several of Yangida's works have been featured in the Association's newsletter, and this print comes with a copy of information about the print by the Association (see below). Each woodblock is signed in pencil in the bottom margin, and some are dated. A fun and unusual collectible, rarely seen outside Japan.
