Original Kunisada III (1848 - 1920) Japanese Woodblock Print
Crowd Visiting Suitengu Shrine at Ningyocho Street
Comments - Interesting view of the busy Ningyocho Street in Tokyo, with rickshaws and pedestrians sharing the road. A bridge in the center leads to the entrance of Suitengu Shrine, a large red paper lantern hanging in the center. At lower right, a foreign man in a red coat and a black hat pauses beside a vendor displaying merchandise at a small stand beneath a red umbrella, with shops in the building behind him. A lively Meiji era scene.
