Kawarazaki Gonjuro in a Sake Shop, 1865 by Kunisada II (1823 - 1880)

Original Kunisada II (1823 - 1880) Japanese Woodblock Print
Kawarazaki Gonjuro in a Sake Shop, 1865

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of Kawarazaki Gonjuro as a man in a sake shop, leaning back on one hand as he looks up with a frown. He wears a brown kimono over a red and black under robe, a white cloth draped over one shoulders. Straw-wrapped barrels of sake line the back of the room, while signs have been pushed to either side above. An unusual setting.

Artist - Kunisada II (1823 - 1880)
Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 3/8" + top margin as shown
Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A couple creases and repairs, ink marks. Please see photos for details.
