Seven Lucky Gods at a Teahouse, 1847 - 1852 by Sadahide (1807 - 1873)

Original Sadahide (1807 - 1873) Japanese Woodblock Print
Seven Lucky Gods at a Teahouse, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Charming scene of three of Japan's famous Seven Lucky Gods relaxing in a teahouse. At left, the Goddess Benzaiten plays a lute. At bottom, Fukurokuju rests his elongated forehead on the lap of Bishamonten, the patron of warriors. Just behind him, a waitress carries in a red tray laden with food, including what looks like a plate of sushi. Shimenawa, ropes used for ritual purification and to denote a sacred space, run along the top of the wall. An intriguing image.

Artist - Sadahide (1807 - 1873)
Image Size - 14 3/8" x 9 3/4" + margins as shown
Condition - This print with good color and detail as shown. A couple small holes, repaired. A few creases and stains. Please see photos for details.
