Autumn Tea Ceremony by Nobukazu (1874 - 1944)

Original Nobukazu (1874 - 1944) Japanese Woodblock Print
Autumn Tea Ceremony

Comments - Beautiful triptych of beauties at a teahouse, with a mother and daughter arriving in the garden. A woman in a pale blue kimono greets her guests warmly, gesturing for them to enter. A small girl sits on the porch beside her, playing with a dog wearing a ruffled fed collar. Inside, two beauties attend a tea ceremony, the hostess using a whisk to mix the tea as the guests watch quietly. Water spills from a small fountain at left next to a stone lantern, flowing into the lake. Stepping stones lead through the garden, the scene framed by the colorful fall foliage of Japanese maple trees. A beautiful design with charming detail and attractive color.
