Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.
Wind Wheel - Charming image of a young mother holding a child in one arm, amusing him with a pin wheel or wind wheel, her lips pursed as if ready to blow on the toy. Her hair is swept up into a large bun, simply adorned with two hairpins, and she wears several layers of colorful robes. Wonderful fine detail in the face and hairstyle. Seldom seen in reprint.
