Bando Hikosaburo as Munesada, 1837

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Bando Hikosaburo as the samurai Munesada. He sits inside of a room looking out into the courtyard, frowning angrily as he holds his sword upright with both hands. He wears a violet kimono with bands of blue and white checks and gold flowers and scrolls. At lower right, a wooden stump serves as a step, and a blossoming tree can be seen at upper left. An attractive design.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Fold at bottom edge. Stitching holes at side, a few wormholes, repaired. Creasing, slight soiling a few stains. Please see photos for details.
