Kabuki Couple, 1858 - Handsome kabuki double portrait of a couple, the man grimacing as he looks over his shoulder. The beauty kneeling at his feet looks to the side with a rather crazed expression, her eyes wide and mouth agape. She wears a gray kimono with a pattern of white blossoms over a red under robe, her hands resting atop a slender pipe beneath her sleeve. Her companion pushes up the sleeve of his robe with one sleeve while gripping a black towel in the other. Nice expressive figures.
