Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861) Japanese Woodblock Reprint
View of the Miyatogawa
Comments - Interesting Kuniyoshi design of two men fishing for freshwater eels in chest high water near tall reeds. Miyatogawa was the name given to a section of the Sumida River north of Azuma Bridge in old Edo. An outstanding design, and one of Kuniyoshi's great landscape prints. Beautiful bokashi shading and fine detail in this reprint.
