Takamizawa Reprints - Handsome reprint by the venerable Takamizawa publisher. Takamizawa was known as one of the finest reprint publishers of the 20th century, and produced some of the highest quality ukiyo-e woodblock reprints of all time. Drawing on the traditions and methods of the Edo era, the prints were produced replicating original Edo era colors and printed on beautiful handmade paper. The printers worked with the utmost care and great attention to detail, masterfully reproducing color and line work. All prints bear the red or brown "Takamizawa" seal on the reverse attesting to the Takamizawa publication of these prints. A great opportunity to acquire a fine reprint of a classic ukiyo-e design.
Summer Moon at Ryogoku Pillar Print - Lovely Hiroshige pillar print showing a view of the moon framed by the wooden pilings of a bridge. A boatman guides his craft past the bridge, a full moon glowing softly overhead among drifting clouds. Beautiful shading in the water and sky. Would make a striking display.
