A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Picture Book of Chinese and Japanese Warriors - The "Picture Book of Chinese and Japanese Warriors" (Ehon Sakigake shohen) was the first in a trilogy of illustrated warrior books that Hokusai produced beginning in 1836. Hokusai's masterful diptych compositions depict historic figures battling enemies or in quieter moments. Some of the more dramatic designs feature encounters with ghosts, demons, or fantastic supernatural creatures, and a few women are included. These great designs are beautifully drawn with wonderful detail. Prints from this series offer a great opportunity to purchase an original Hokusai at a low opening bid price.
