Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Ichimura Uzaemon as Shimobe Shikazu, 1861
Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of Ichimura Uzaemon as Shimobe Shikazu. He leans forward with a worried frown, reaching for the hilt of his sword. He wears a blue kimono bordered with colorful flowers, tied with a red striped obi and tucked up at the waist for easier movement. A curtain hanging overhead features a design of swallows flying in a rain storm with lightning and clouds above. A nicely detailed design.
