Courtesan with a Carp Obi Kakemono by Kunitora (active circa 1810s- 1840s)

Original Kunitora (active circa 1810s- 1840s) Japanese Woodblock Print
Courtesan with a Carp Obi Kakemono

Comments - Terrific kakemono or vertical diptych of a courtesan looking over her shoulder as she pulls up the edge of her robe. Her outer kimono features stylized waves and branches of coral, worn over a black kimono which also has stylized waves, tied with a striking obi depicting a carp leaping up a rushing waterfall. The first time we've offered this lovely Edo era beauty design.

Artist - Kunitora (active circa 1810s- 1840s)
Image Size - 28 1/4" x 9 1/4"
Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. A few small tears, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases, small stain. Please note, due to the size, this print may be shipped rolled. Please see photos for details.
