Original Eizan (1787 - 1867) Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauty Holding a Doll Kakemono
Comments - Attractive Eizan kakemono or vertical diptych of a beauty holding a doll, looking down at it as she carefully cradles it between her hands. She wears a patterned blue kimono edged with a green and white print of plum blossoms and cracked ice, worn over a red under robe with a tie-dyed collar. Her obi is bordered with a green leaf pattern, and her hair is pulled back into a smooth bun adorned with a comb, decorative hairpins, and ribbons. The doll wears a green coat over a cherry blossom print robe. A charming subject.
