These attractive designs feature delicate line work and soft colors. Murakami Sadao graduated from the Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting in 1930, and studied woodblock printing with Tokuriki. He worked as an artist for the Takashimaya department store, and also participated in the Kyoto Sosaku Hanga Kyokai exhibition in 1933 and other sosaku hanga shows in the Kansai region.
