Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauty and Fireworks Display
Comments - Charming scene of a beauty on a summer evening with fireworks exploding in the night sky. She wears a kimono patterned with stylized geese in flight, the breeze blowing her sleeves and a fan tucked into the back of her obi. Her hair is adorned with a flower and she wears a gold ring, both Western fashions newly popular during the Meiji era. Strings of red lanterns hang from the buildings in the background, adding a festive air. An attractive design.
