Comments - Attractive portrait of a young bride during a wedding ceremony. The Heian era beauty looks down with a serious expression as she kneels on the floor, her robes trailing on the floor around her. The back of her outer kimono features a scene of pine, plum, and bamboo, the "Three Friends of Winter," with narrow streams of silver mica checked cloth adorned with purple ribbons and bows on either side. Beautifully detailed with delicate cloth embossing on the back of the kimono, embossing on the white kimono collar, and burnishing on the hair.
