Original Chikuyo Hasegawa (active circa 1870s - 1880s) Japanese Woodblock Print
View of Toshogu Shrine in Nikko
Comments - Lovely panoramic view of the impressive Toshogu Shrine complex at Nikko, set into the hillside surrounded by tall pines. Visitors climb steps to the various levels, passing through torii gates and past a set of large temples bells. A wonderfully detailed image with nice vibrant color and incredible fine line work, each building carefully identified with a name cartouche. A striking triptych of this famous sacred Shinto site.
