Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Prince Genji at Kameido Tenjin Shrine, 1864
Comments - Terrific scene of Prince Genji enjoying a visit to the famous Kameido Tenjin Shrine. He relaxes on a verandah framed with delicate purple wisteria, drinking a cup of sake, his sword bearer at his side. He looks out over the water as visitors climb the Drum Bridge in the background, pausing to admire the scenery. A lovely spring scene with attractive color.
