Original Sadanobu II (1848 - 1940) Japanese Woodblock Print
Harimaze after Hiroshige
Comments - Interesting harimaze print featuring designs based on Hiroshige's "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo" series. Harimaze are woodblock prints featuring several images on one page, designed to be cut apart and pasted into albums or mounted to screens. Clockwise from upper right, the subjects are the Tama River Embankment, Kinokuni Hill, Oumayagashi, the Hall of Thirty-Three Bays, and the Sanno Festival Procession at Kojimachi 1-chome. A charming Meiji era collection of classic Hiroshige designs.
