Kawanishi Yuzaburo - The son of noted printmaker Kawanishi Hide, Kawanishi Yuzaburo began studying woodblock print making at the age of eight with his father. He exhibited widely in Japan and internationally, becoming a leader in the sosaku hanga genre in the Kansai area. His extensive travels resulted in a number of European subjects. His distinctive style uses large areas of color and simplified shapes without a black keyblock. Collectors prize the colorful works of this important sosaku hanga artist.
