Original Kunikiyo II (active circa 1850s) Japanese Woodblock Print
Crossing the Great Oi River, 1853
Comments - Terrific scene of travelers crossing the Oi River, the water crowded with bearers carrying customers across the wide waterway. Several beauties ride sitting atop platforms, while at left, two women chat and smoke pipes as they ride of the shoulders of bearers. The snow-capped peak of Mt. Fuji rises above the opposite shore. A great design full of activity and interesting detail.
