Nuragami Chogoro and Oseki, 1855 - Handsome kabuki portrait of the sumo wrestler Nuragami Chogoro, looking up with an angry frown, a folding fan in hand and a robe draped over his shoulder. The circular inset above features the beauty Oseki, who is the sister of Chogoro's rival, Hanaregoma Chokichi. Large chrysanthemums fill the background against an evening sky. An attractive design, detailed with a faint burnished pattern on the black kimono and embossing on the fan.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A couple small wormholes, repaired. Light wrinkling, slight soiling. Please see photos for details.
