The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers: The Faithful Ronin Withdraw to Takanawa, 1827 - Great scene of the 47 ronin returning to Takanawa following their successful night attack on Moronao's mansion. At bottom center, Oboshi Yuranosuke, the leader of the ronin, interviews a priest from the temple of Sengaku-ji in Takanawa, where their master, Lord Hangan, was buried. A handsome early Kuniyoshi design.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels. Partially backed with paper. Small losses and wormholes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing. Please see photos for details.
