Wary Samurai, 1861 by Edo era artist (unsigned)

Original Edo era Japanese Woodblock Print
Wary Samurai, 1861

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of a samurai standing in a doorway, looking over his shoulder with a wary frown, holding his sword between his hands. He wears a gray coat over a blue kimono and red under robe, his hair pulled back into a neat topknot. The figure is nicely set off against the deep blue background.

Artist - Edo era artist (unsigned)
Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 1/2"
Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with somewhat stiff paper. A few small wormholes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and ink offsetting. Please see photos for details.
