Courtesans in the Yoshiwara
Comments - Terrific scene of courtesans strolling through the Yoshiwara entertainment district. Dressed in luxurious kimono, the beauties are accompanied by young attendants in matching attire. Cherry trees fill the courtyard with pink and red blossoms above flowering shrubs and lanterns. At left, a woman wears an impressive obi patterned with a dragon, the servant behind her balancing a tray of good, including a large fish, on his head. A lively bustling scene with vibrant color and a wealth of detail. Would make an attractive framed display.
