Kabuki Confrontation - Unusual four-panel kabuki print showing a confrontation taking place at the foot of a verandah. Two distraught young men kneel at right, each holding out a small purse and gesturing with his free hand. The older man at far right seems quite alarmed, his arms spread wide in a stopping motion. At left, a woman reads from a letter with a hopeful expression, while her fellow beauty clasps her hands together in delight. An interesting scene with great expressive faces and wonderful interaction between the characters.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)
Image Size - 14 1/4" x 38 3/4"
Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Four panels, not attached. Slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
