Imperial Palace Moat, 1988 - A beautiful contemporary woodblock dating to the late 20th century by Satsuki Tsukimi. This classic view of sunset over the Imperial Palace moat is a scene known to many visitors to Tokyo. The beautiful pink and orange tones of a spectacular Tokyo sunset light the moat, palace foundation walls, the trees, and urban scene beyond. Our favorite design from this series of landscape scenes by Tsukimi.
This is a large format, limited edition woodblock limited to 40 prints. Titled, signed in pencil with red artist’s seal, and numbered in pencil 12/40. A classic 20th century Japanese design and a very rare woodblock print due to the small edition size.
