Kyodo Risshi no Motoi
Beauty Performing Dressed as a Samurai - Intriguing image of a beauty on stage, dressed as a samurai with two swords at her side. Her hair is pulled back into a high bun, a white sash tied around her forehead with tails trailing down over her back. Her red kimono features a design of blooming iris, and she carries a folding fan. Members of the audience applaud on the lower level, while the patrons in the boxes above seem solemn, one man wiping his eye with the heel of his hand. An interesting and unusual vantage point, nicely detailed.
