Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
The Akashi Bathhouse, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Terrific view of the lower story of the Akashi Bathhouse. In the center, Prince Genji stands beside a well, smiling as he looks up, while an attendant carries his sword as she opens the door at left. The beauty at right holds a blossoming cherry branch from the tree framing the scene behind her. Wonderful detail in the architectural setting. A charming design.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. A few wormholes, repaired. Slight soiling, ink offsetting along edge, slight rubbing at edge, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
