A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction
Picture of the Railroad at Takanawa, 1871 - Terrific view of the railroad at Takanawa, running along a curving embankment near the shore of Shinagawa Bay. In the center is a U.S. Mail car with misspelled English on the side. Boats move along the canal between the embankment and shore, the one at lower right covered by a strange arched canopy. Wonderful detail in this unusual subject.
