Customs and Manners of Beautiful Women - Charming print from Uemura Shoen's 1913 series depicting women in scenes from everyday life. The beauties take part in seasonal activities such as changing a scroll or arranging flowers as well as enjoying pastimes such as reading or playing the koto. These attractive designs are drawn with delicate line work and are softly colored. Best known for her bijin-ga or portraits of beautiful women, Uemura Shoen was the first female artist to receive Japan's Order of Cultural Merit. These chuban size designs are a nice choice for display.
