Nakamura Shikan IV as Otomo Kuronushi, 1872 - Great kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan IV as the villain Otomo Kuronushi, who has been working as a barrier guard under the name Sekibei. In the play commonly known as "The Snow Bound Barrier of Love," the drunken Sekibei attempts to chop down a cherry tree and finds himself confronted with the beautiful courtesan Sumizone, who is actually the spirit of the cherry tree.
